CINÉCRAFT PRODUCTIONS WINS BEST IN SHOW AT LEARNING SOLUTION’S DEMOFEST

CLEVELAND, OH – April 21, 2017 – Cinécraft Productions won it’s second DemoFest award at the eLearning Guild’s Learning Solutions Conference on March 23, 2017. This time Cinécraft worked with Booz Allen Hamilton on a microlearning solution for an existing 45 minute “Government Contract Basics” eLearning course.

The solution is a well-rounded experience that offers Booz Allen Hamilton consultants the ability to engage in a mission impossible theme with a series of three to five knowledge-based and objective-driven questions that challenges the learner to learn through failure.  If the learner gets an eighty percent or better they earn a badge and can move on to the next micro-course. They are also provided with a downloadable job aid prior to answering the questions, which makes their mission a little bit like an open-book test.

The solution was demonstrated in the “Best of DemoFest” webinar broadcast on April 19, 2017. You can view the recording here at the 15:28 marker.

METROHEALTH AND CINÉCRAFT PARTNER TO CREATE LIFESAVING OPIOID OVERDOSE VIDEO

We are living with a deadly epidemic. In Cuyahoga County, the Coroner’s Office attributed over 500 deaths to opioid overdose in 2016. This is more than double the murder rate for the county.

Through a grant provided by the Ohio Department of Health, MetroHealth partnered with Cinécraft Productions to produce a video that educates the public on “Project DAWN.” DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone) is a statewide program that helps distribute a lifesaving medication called Naloxone. Naloxone (aka Narcan) reverses the effects of opioids and restores respiratory function in an overdose victim.

During an opioid overdose, an overwhelming amount of opioids causes central nervous system and respiratory depression, which can lead to death. If Naloxone is administered in time, it will “knock” the opioid off the brain receptor and restore respiratory function in the individual. The person still requires immediate medical attention as the lifesaving effect will be temporary; Naloxone only lasts between 30-90 minutes, which means that the overdose may recur.

“People need videos that sell bolts and I like doing that, but when I get a chance to help save lives I feel a greater sense of accomplishment,” Scott Minium, Executive Producer at Cinécraft Productions.

Project DAWN provides free Naloxone kits and overdose response training to those at personal risk of overdose and to those who may be able to assist someone experiencing an overdose, such as friends and family members of those with opioid-use disorder.

Cinécraft helped the MetroHealth team craft their message, which will be distributed throughout the state. The video will help viewers understand opioids and what they do to the body, what an overdose looks like, what you can do if you think someone is in an overdose situation, and how to obtain Naloxone.

The Project DAWN video is a brief look at a harrowing disease that has affected so many people across the nation and particularly in Ohio. The tone of the video is not judgmental, nor does it try to convince people to quit.

Click here if you would like more information on Project DAWN.

Using Scenarios to Help People Learn – May 21, 2015

Presented by Kim Lindsey, Instructional Design Manager – Cinecraft Productions

These days, there’s a lot of emphasis on using “scenarios” in training and development – even technical training. Is it all just hype? or can scenarios really make a difference?

This presentation provides an introduction to scenario-based training formats. Together, we’ll answer questions like: How long do scenarios have to be? When are scenarios appropriate, and are there times when they are not appropriate? Do you have to use video? audio? special software tools? and What is a “branching scenario”?

We’ll also collaborate to transform some instructional text into a scenario-based design, so you can see how it’s done. You’ll leave with fresh ideas that can enhance your projects and give you a creative edge. REGISTER HERE
